Inspired In Christ

We Find Peace This Way

Most of us look for Peace or at-least welcome it and these Scriptures are in

our Bible with the pages not turned often or these verses go unnoticed or forgotten.

But the recipe for Peace and inner Strength is right in the application of them.

There is an Online software called the DISCOVERY BIBLE and I will show you

the beauty of it on this Page. It has special symbols next to some words to indicate the way

the Greek and Hebrew people use those words - this phenomena is different to any other speaking

language and is important to understand really, to know how The Lord is speaking to us.

We can really benefit from this type of study. That's for sure.

Discovery Bible also lets you click on any word in a verse and see the Original Greek or Hebrew

meaning. In addition to that, it has special cross-references etc to each word or verse.

All of these features are presented on a separate window on your right for easy reference.

Philippians 4:1-9

Verse Nbs in Blue    Symbol Letters in Red   (My words in brackets)

1 My beloved (brothers and sisters) whom I long to see, my joy and crown, IN THIS WAY Stand B Firm in the Lord, my beloved.

4 Rejoice B in the Lord always I again I will say, rejoice! B 5 Let E your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near I . 6 Be anxious C for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made B known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, (brothers and sisters), whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell B on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice B these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Symbol Application of Each Word Indicated

B Keep on doing this, ongoing as a lifestyle!

C Keep on refusing to do this! — and/or, Stop doing this if it has already started!

E Check it off, get it done! — look for the first opportunity to complete it!

I That word is strongly emphasised — not just a little!

Stand firm in the Lord, my beloved – Keep this in practice (it’s ongoing, don’t stop – don’t stress, fuss or fret, keep your gaze on Jesus)

Let your gentle spirit be known to everyone –to be fitting, equitable, fair.

The Lord is Near – referring to the Rapture (keep ready – He comes in a twinkling of an eye – preparedness)

Be anxious for nothing  – drawn in opposite directions, "divided into parts" worry (it's tempting sometimes I know)

Which surpasses all comprehension, will guard you – "beyond, above" excel and surpass (pass our expectations)

Which surpasses all comprehension, will guard you – God-given capacity to think and reason (understand, work out)

A Few Thoughts On These Verses:

1 Keep looking to The Lord as your Strength and Stay. Don’t stop to stress or fret – keep going and run that Race, for the Prize of that High Calling in Jesus.

4 Bounce out of bed in the mornings with the Joy of The Lord - don't give unpleasant thoughts on waking a hold or shape your day -

keep your Joy through the day and each day, that you are Loved by Jesus and living in the Father's blessing.

5  He will delight in you if you show gentleness to those around you, whoever they may be, in your daily life. Always act in a right spirit and try not to get frustrated with others - we all have an earthly frame - He gets sad when we're grumpy or overbearing with others, acting poorly and showing lack of consideration but He is quick to forgive when we show a true desire to change.

The Lord is Coming - it may be sooner than we think, so we must remember that He observes and weighs our actions.

6 We need to think of anxiety as a temptation and 'nip it in the bud' before it develops.

7 It may really surprise you to see what Goodness The Lord will show towards you when you avoid being anxious and present things to Him instead, remembering to thank Him in advance.

8 Keep your thoughts for what is true and honorable, never allow that which is false or shameful to dominate your thinking. Don't allow your thoughts to twist and turn but keep a right spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to show you what is right. Keep your thoughts pure and don't allow the ways of the world to make inroads into your thought processes. Yes, and think about things you would not be ashamed of or shame others. Try to dwell on all the lovely things, beautiful etc instead of getting carried away with disturbing thoughts. Think about God's cute little creatures and the sunset etc more often, this will give you less time to be upset about inadequacies and people's offences. Major on the things that are excellent and praiseworthy instead of the things that upset or tempt you.

9 Look to Paul's example we see in Scripture and practice these things - then the Peace of God becomes tangible rather than longed for. YES!

Verse 8 also encourages us to dwell on our blessings! Hey? Entertaining negative thoughts is toxic to our soul -

we need to cleanse and train our thought patterns every day.

Each morning we wake up, we have new baby brain cells. Let's nurture them with good healthy thinking patterns.

"TO HIM WHO ORDERS HIS/HER CONVERSATION ARIGHT, I WILL SHOW THE SALVATION OF GOD"

Conversation starts in our mind. So we need to guard our thoughts and our words, if we want to see our prayers being answered, hey?

Yes, we need to make Philippians 4:8 our guidelines for speaking too and we will notice a difference in our mood levels

because they rise and fall with our words. Others can benefit too and find us to be good company.

A Favorite Bible Verse that Inspires Me!

Phil 4:8 is my favorite verse: "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise think about these things." Because that is the best pattern for thinking....it speaks about having a Christ awareness .....appreciation of nature... the qualities and giftings in others.....it speaks of renewing your mind consistently.....loving His Words of Life..... having right attitudes and healthy thoughts and company.....being creative .......having a desire for progress.

See how the Holy Spirit inspires you with this Verse, what good things come to mind

and write them down to keep in reference. Sometimes, if we take different verses and meditate

on them, different things will come to our heart and mind at different times.

It is really nice to keep a record of them, not forgetting we have them there.

There is a wonderful way I've discovered to do this, that will keep us focused on inspirations we've had at different times.

There is a special Bible Software program called TheWord that functions Offline as well as when we are Online.

It is designed for using 4 windows at a time OR 2 windows (left and right). If you do this, you can keep this software open on

Bible Chapter and Verses on your Left and My Verse Notes on your Right (it gives you provision to type and add to when you like)

You can Update and/or Delete when you like and also Date if you wish to do so, any Entries you make.

What My Readers Are Saying

When we read, our brain is programmed to read what suits us. Because of that, we tend to gloss over important scriptures and pick out what we want. With this software program, it provides great explanation of all the important points and would focus our mind to pay attention to all the details. I really like it!

I like the way you designed this page, it's eye catching and easy to read. If I want to read some scriptures for encouragement and motivation, I can come and read pages like this.
