Vital Ministries of the Holy Spirit

by Marvin Williams

Talking about the Holy Spirit can be a challenging conversation. But, it is paramount that we the conversation.

Here are at least 37 important ministries of the Holy Spirit.

Importance of Talking About the Holy Spirit

It is important for us to speak about the Holy Spirit for several reasons. First, the Holy Spirit is where the Trinity becomes personal. God, the Father, is transcendent and seems so far away. Jesus lived over 2,000 years ago and seems far removed from our present day lives. The Holy Spirit, however, lives within us and helps us to experience the Father and Son.

Second, the Holy Spirt plays a prominent role in the life of the Church today. God was prominent in the Old Testament, and Jesus was prominent in the Gospels. But, since Jesus’ ascension, the Holy Spirit has taken center stage in the life of the Church and individual believers.

Third, the Holy Spirit makes the Christian life more than a set of propositions to be believed. He makes our relationship with God real and tangible. We can experience true love, joy, peace, and freedom.

Therefore, it is important that we take the time to understand the person and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church and believers today.
